Estimates and Pricing
4. ECL’s standard price list has been prepared as a guideline only for basicalterations that only include:
a) taking up the hem
b) taking side seams and the bustle and loop.
5. More complex alterations that require more fittings and work will be priced by the tailor at the Customer’s first fitting.
Deposits and Payment
6. Full payment is required at or prior to collection. In most cases a 50% deposit is required prior to commencement of any alterations.
Completion of Alterations
7. Alterations are normally completed within three fittings unless otherwise stated. Charges of an additional £60 may apply to urgent alterations. Customers must ask ECL’s tailor about such alteration appointments and any additional costs that may be
involved.
Uncollected Items & Disposal
8. Any items that remain uncollected may be sold or disposed of to cover ECL’s costs. This will be within six weeks of ECL’s written notice of collection (includes notices sent electronically). A storage charge may apply then.
9. Garments and materials relating to unpaid orders remain the property of ECL and may be disposed of if not paid for within 30 days of the invoice date. Court action may also be taken to receive any outstanding balance.
Work Specification and Defects
10. For each garment a detailed description will be prepared by the tailor. Garment alteration instructions will be agreed between the Customer and ECL’s tailor at the first fitting. If there is any customization in the design of a garment, the alterations will
be based on the information provided at the time of the Customer's initial request (this will be at the first fitting). Any changes in the design by the Customer after this initial request shall be subject to additional charges.
11. All gowns will be steamed and placed into a wedding bag ready for collection. We advise Customers to not fold or store garments in a tight space which will cause creasing. ECL is not liable for any creasing caused by a Customer’s transporting
method.
12. A copy of the Customer’s instructions for the work will be given to the Customer at the fitting. Upon completion of the work specified, the garment will be quality control checked and if found to be unacceptable to the Customer as a result of the

Customer’s Obligations
21. Customers are to bring the shoes that they are going to wear on the day with the dress so as to ensure the length of the dress is altered perfectly.
22. ECL asks Customers engaging it to make sure they are not planning to change their body weight. That is because it takes a lot of work and time to alter a wedding dress and as such, planned weight loss once the once the work has started, will mean the same work will have to carried out again which will lead to additional costs
for the Customer.
23. Generally, weight gain is likely to affect the final stages of the work. In that regard, if the Customer’s weight increase/decrease happens close to the completion of the work, certain parts of the garment may have to be re-altered at ECL’s discretion and charges may be made for the time and materials involved.
24. If garments don’t fit due to the Customer’s increase or decrease in weight or any other reason beyond the control of EC after the garment is collected, further alterations if requested by the Customer shall be at the Customer’s cost.
25. Customers are to bring to the fitting the bra they intend to wear on the wedding day. ECL’s tailor then will be able to do the fitting based on it or its shape. ECL has a variety of cups that can be used upon the preference of the Customer and can also
advise on other options and underwear that can be worn.
26. The Customer must pay the full amount due and is not entitled to set-off any amount, make deductions or withhold sums due without the written consent of ECL.
27. Alterations should be ordered as close as possible to the wedding date so as to ensure the best possible result.
28. Late arrival for the work should be avoided as as this could affect the time and attention allocated to the work.
29. Customers are to raise any questions about the fit and finish of the garment involved both during fittings and before collection as raising such questions after the garment is collected won’t be acceptable to ECL.
30. Last minute changes to the work which are initiated by the Customer are likely to incur further costs.
31. Garments must be inspected before and when they are collected as ECL cannot be responsible for damage to the garment after it has left its possession.
32. Customers are required to behave appropriately and take due care when attending fittings and to appreciate that they are in a workplace setting with many sharp object about.
33. Customers are expected to give ECL as much advance notice as they can if they intend to bring guests to the consultations and fitting in order that ECL may be able to properly accommodate them.

may propose a mediator nominated by the Civil Mediation Council on the basis that the mediation is to be held online and at the cost of the person initiating the mediation. Should the mediation deliver a settlement, then the cost of the mediation shall be borne by the parties in equal proportions.
Severability
